Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team at Mac Papers. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, financial reporting, and analysis.

This role offers broad exposure to multiple areas of accounting and the business, working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and looking to build a strong foundation in accounting while contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Support preparation of financial statements and reporting packages
• Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation
• Partner with internal teams to answer questions related to financial data
• Maintain and improve accounting processes and procedures
• Support ad hoc projects and analysis as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

• Internship or early experience in accounting or finance
• Interest in pursuing a CPA
• Experience with ERP systems (Infor M3, Sage, or similar a plus)
• Exposure to financial reporting or month-end close processes
