Job Title: Machine Operator (Packaging / Production)

Location: Piscataway, NJ

Job Summary

We are hiring a Machine Operator for a growing food manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for candidates with packaging machine experience looking for long-term stability and the chance to transition into a permanent role. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-speed production equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor packaging and carton flow equipment
• Perform equipment checks and troubleshoot issues during production
• Complete changeovers between product formats
• Ensure machines are running efficiently with minimal downtime
• Conduct pre-operation checks to ensure proper startup
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery
• Communicate with team members to maintain production flow
• Maintain cleanliness and follow all safety and food quality standards
• Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Report any quality or food safety concerns to management

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a machine operator in a high-speed manufacturing environment
• Experience with packaging machinery preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing environments
• Spanish language skills are a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $21 – $23/hour
• Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential
• Overtime may be available based on production needs

Schedule

• 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Monday – Friday)
• Training required on 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM for the first 3 weeks
