Job Description

Overview: LHH is partnering with a well‑established insurance defense firm to identify an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a managing partner in its Nashville office. This is a full‑time, on‑site position supporting a partner with a high‑volume medical malpractice and legal malpractice defense practice . The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and brings strong litigation experience. This is a challenging but rewarding role for a seasoned legal professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, revise, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, and litigation documents
  • Maintain and organize case files in both electronic and physical formats
  • Coordinate communications with clients, witnesses, experts, and external parties
  • Schedule depositions, court hearings, and other litigation‑related events
  • Draft and proofread motions, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments, and internal workflows
  • Handle administrative tasks including answering calls, directing inquiries, and monitoring mail
  • Support trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and organizing materials
  • Track documents, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all interactions

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant
  • Strong background in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or professional liability preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong document‑management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong proofreading and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure
  • Professional demeanor and ability to support a very active litigation practice

Details:

  • Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 annually
