Location:  Southern Maine (Wells, Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Ogunquit)

Type:  Internship (Summer or Semester)

Lafayette Hotels, a family-owned company with over 30 hotels and restaurants across Maine and New Hampshire, is looking for a creative and driven  Digital Marketing Intern  to join our expanding team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in hospitality marketing and digital content creation. We have an amazing team of associates currently and a supportive, collaborative work environment. 

If you're enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, this internship will give you real-world experience in social media, content strategy, email marketing, and more—all while exploring some of the best vacation destinations in New England. 

What You’ll Do  

Daily and weekly tasks may include: 

  • Create, gather, edit social media content (photo, video, and written) 
  • Support social media engagement by replying to comments, liking posts, and interacting with guest content 
  • Visit properties and nearby destinations to capture updated photos and videos 
  • Assist with hospitality photography and videography 
  • Support team in building email marketing campaign content 
  • Audit and update online property listings (Google, Bing, TripAdvisor, etc.) 
  • Monitor and track local events for marketing opportunities and guest perks 
  • Audit websites for outdated content and inconsistencies; assist with updates 
  • Help maintain a shared content library for the marketing team 
  • Create visual graphics and marketing materials using Canva 

What We’re Looking For  

Ideal candidates will have experience in —or a willingness to learn—some of the following: 

  • Canva or basic graphic design tools 
  • Photo and video editing (bonus if you’ve worked with Reels or YouTube) 
  • Experience with Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest 
  • Meta Business Ads (basic understanding) 
  • Google My Business, Bing Places, and TripAdvisor listing management 
  • Strong organization and communication skills 
  • Comfortable both behind and in front of a camera 

Additional Details  

  • Late May - August internship timeframe
  • Flexible scheduling (20 - 30 hrs. / wk. or more if desired) 
  • On-site (southern Maine)
  • Travel within 1 hour of your home base may be required depending on the region 
  • Open to summer and/or semester-based internships and more
