A well‑established, multi‑state creditors’ rights and collections litigation law firm is seeking a Kansas‑barred Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. This role offers zero billable hour requirements , hands‑on litigation experience, and meaningful flexibility depending on location.

Work Location & Flexibility

• Kansas City, MO area: Initially on‑site during training
• Hybrid schedule available after the first couple of months (work from home several days per week)
• Wichita, KS area: Fully remote role
• In‑person presence required approximately once per month

Position Overview

This Associate Attorney role focuses on creditors’ rights and collections litigation , managing cases from suit through post‑judgment. The practice is fast‑paced, litigation‑driven, and metrics‑focused—ideal for attorneys who enjoy courtroom work and responsibility early in their careers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high‑volume docket of consumer and/or commercial collections matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement documents
• Appear in court for motions, hearings, trials, and post‑judgment proceedings
• Handle matters from pre‑suit through judgment enforcement (including garnishments and citations)
• Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and internal teams
• Ensure compliance with FDCPA, applicable state laws, and court rules
• Accurately document case activity in the firm’s case management system
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks consistent with a collections litigation practice

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Kansas Bar license in good standing (required)
• 1+ year of litigation experience (collections, creditors’ rights, or high‑volume civil litigation preferred)
• Strong legal writing, drafting, and courtroom skills
• Comfortable managing a high caseload
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Proficiency with legal technology and case management systems
• Multi‑state licensure is a plus, but not required
